Association of Hunters
We supported an Association of Hunters, Gučevo, to finance construction work planned for its pheasantry over the next three years. Gučevo is a citizens association in Loznica that has existed for more than 120 years. The association manages a hunting ground which covers an area of 45,417 hecatres in the Loznica municipality. The association has around 800 members and was founded with the aim of managing and improving hunting areas. It is focused on the care of game, the protection and improvement of habitats, maintenance of hunting grounds and the improvement of hunting conditions.
Our cooperation with Gučevo is designed to support sustainable and best practices in the hunting of pheasants and partridges, preserving their natural habitat as much as possible and continuously protecting and enhancing local biodiversity. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the city of Loznica have also supported the project. This collaboration will help to create better conditions on the hunting grounds and promote compliance with hunting rules.
This project will bring many benefits to the local community. It will enable the continuation of the hunting tradition, which is important to the region’s cultural heritage. It will also support with the promotion of hunting tourism in the region, attracting tourists from other parts of Serbia as well as abroad.
Gučevo plays an important role in the protection of human and animal health, by actively participating in preventing and reducing the possibility of the spread of rabies, as well as in monitoring the oral vaccination of foxes in the Jadar region.
