Rio Sava is starting with the selective removal of building components, preserving traditional architecture elements
Loznica - Rio Sava is beginning to remove select historical architecture from abandoned buildings in the Jadar Valley as part of preparatory work to demolish the dilapidated houses and structures.
The abandoned houses are continuing to deteriorate and represent a health and safety risk to the company’s employees, neighbours, and community. The priority is to conduct the work safely and efficiently to address safety concerns.
Rio Sava owns all the land where the work is being conducted and has all the demolition permits from the City of Loznica's Department of Planning and Construction that allows the work to legally move ahead. The permits are available on our website (personal data has been removed).
We are continuing to consult with the local community and representatives of MZ Brezjak and Loznica.
The initial demolition work includes removing traditional architecture. These items will be categorized and stored for future study and potentially displaying.
The demolition works is not the beginning of the Jadar Project construction. The demolition is being undertaken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our neighbors because the abandoned buildings and houses continue to deteriorate and represent a safety risk.
Rio Sava will provide future updates as the work progresses.
