Rio Tinto Donates Firefighting Vehicle to the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Loznica
Rio Tinto has donated a specialized firefighting vehicle and a high-pressure breathing apparatus compressor to the Volunteer Fire Brigade (DVD) of Loznica. This donation reaffirms our long-standing commitment to enhancing safety and supporting the community where we have operated for more than 20 years.

At the firefighter training ground in Lagator, Jadar Project Director Chad Blewitt officially handed over the vehicle keys to the President of DVD Loznica, Bora Kikanović.

"Unfortunately, the number of fires in our area has been increasing, and having modern equipment is crucial for an effective emergency response. We are grateful to Rio Tinto for recognizing the importance of strengthening the capacities of firefighting units, which are often the first to respond in critical situations. This is already the second major donation—previously, we received state-of-the-art firefighting equipment, which makes our daily work both easier and safer," said Kikanović.
Speaking to attendees and local media, Chad Blewitt emphasized: "Wherever we operate, we aim to contribute to the development of local communities through projects that bring tangible and lasting value. As a responsible partner, we will continue to support initiatives that improve infrastructure, education, economic development, and above all - community safety and public health."
