In 2004, Rio Tinto geologists discovered Jadarite, a new mineral containing lithium and boron. Jadarite, named after the Jadar River, is located near the city of Loznica in Western Serbia. The Jadar deposit is a world-class resource that could potentially provide the foundation of a new electric vehicle supply chain in Serbia.
We are working on assessing the potential impacts of the Jadar Project on the environment in the Jadar Valley, as well as on defining the best ways to manage them responsibly.
Supporting local communities has always been central to our operations in the Jadar Valley.
Here you can find press releases, photos, presentations and publications of Jadar Project.
We are committed to building strong relationships with our partners and suppliers.
